Not really necessary for a 2" or hell probably not even for 4" lift. I got one because I wanted to play with it, one of my least useful purchases for the 4r, put your beans elsewhere. Theres a bunch of threads on here where we've mathed it out and the axle shift is pretty small, no discussion on tracking but you'd need a good shop willing to do a 4wheel alignment on what their computer says is a non-adjustable rear to be sure anyway.
Yes the best way would be to raise axle mount or lower frame mount to keep the bar flat but the one bracket that was on the market at one time is no longer made (Sonoran steel maybe?) they only sell the adjustable links now. Not a popular thing at all on 4th gens unless doing a full link set.
