Adjustable panhard bar?

At what lift height does an adjustable panhard bar become necessary? I'm going to install Radflo 2" lift coils soon and I can't find any clear info about what lift height makes a bar upgrade a necessity.

I don't think it's a necessary upgrade unless you are getting 3" lift coils and adding a 3" spacer on top of that... or something close.:naughty:

An aftermarket UCA is way more important.

im off center with 2" lift for the rear. im about 3/4-1" at ride height and over that at droop. Ill be buying an adjustable rear panhard shortly to fix it and allow my rear end to droop a touch more because it binds currently.

Thanks. The UCAs for the front are in my plans for sure, just wasn't sure about the rear.

Most people get them because they are beefier (not that I've heard of anyone breaking theirs), can be adjusted like you mentioned to realign the axle after a lift maybe 1/4" to 1/2". Or because of the bling factor and it matches their aftermarket lower links. Aftermarket lower links are probably a better value if you play in the rocks or want to see your bling easier.

I'm not a bling guy and don't plan on getting silly on the kind of rocks that would beat up the lower links so I guess I should be ok w the stock setup aside of the springs. I was more concerned with the axle not being centered and having tracking issues.

Hmmm-when do you notice the binding? Off-road or daily driving? Do you have issues with the truck tracking straight?

Does anyone in the 4th gen world lower the frame side panhard mount? Or raise the axle side mount? As an alternative to simply lengthening the bar. I know this was a common alternative for the 3rd gen crowd and the rear suspension design is very similar. From what I understand, the best setup will have a panhard angle that is flat while at static ride height. A longer bar will center the axle at static height and correct for the lift, but it's still going to swing the axle more when it articulates.

Might need to research this a bit more but curious what the "pros" would say on this topic.

Not really necessary for a 2" or hell probably not even for 4" lift. I got one because I wanted to play with it, one of my least useful purchases for the 4r, put your beans elsewhere. Theres a bunch of threads on here where we've mathed it out and the axle shift is pretty small, no discussion on tracking but you'd need a good shop willing to do a 4wheel alignment on what their computer says is a non-adjustable rear to be sure anyway.

Yes the best way would be to raise axle mount or lower frame mount to keep the bar flat but the one bracket that was on the market at one time is no longer made (Sonoran steel maybe?) they only sell the adjustable links now. Not a popular thing at all on 4th gens unless doing a full link set.

Interesting. I can definitely feel the rear end move around even in stock form. I guess I can address if I feel the need once I get my MT coils installed.

Really like what Dirtco did here:

Another cool option for the 3rd gen guys. Gunna have to dig and compare some numbers.

On full droop testing I noticed it wouldn't allow it to droop as far as it should be. Tracks straight now
