I haven't even seen you install your front ADS Coilovers yet, and you're asking about the rears... You can buy all the parts you want, but if you don't put them on the 4Runner, you won't get that super cool Secret Decoder Ring! LOL

I just put mine on and initial feel is great. I don't think you'll have any complaints.

So just to update everyone.
I got the front ADS coilovers for the 4Runner with non adjustable remote resi's and got Rear ADS piggybacks for an FJ in the rear.

I just did a week on the OBDR and these shocks are amazing. I was bombing down bad washboardy roads at 50 mph and it was like driving on the freeway. They handled very well in all the conditions I threw at them, so crawling over rocks, ruts, trees, highway, gravel roads, sand dunes, dry lakebeds, washboard roads, lava rocks, water crossings, etc.

The only complaints I have so far are that the rear piggy back will swing inwards with a lot of vibration and when you are at full stuff the LCA's will contact the piggyback. I talked to SRQ and he said to tighten the top nut more. I have them as tight as I can get them now using a 3 ft breaker bar. I am going out wheeling this weekend and am going to throw everything I can at them to see if they still move. If they do, then I will have to see what kind of solution I can come up with.

The other issue I had was when I was out at the Alvord Desert I was hearing a clunk from the front end of my 4runner (ended up being a missing caliper bolt, suckers are locktited in now) and while investigating I bumped the fitting on the remote resi and it squirted oil on my hand. I instantly tightened it by hand and got a wrench and tightened it up and checked all the other fittings and they were good. Now that coilover on the drivers side is sitting about an inch lower than the other side. I am working with Mathew at SRQ on this, I will let you know what the results are. I am not upset about a loose fitting, things happen and if they take care of it then I could care less. This isn't a daily driver for me, it is my overland/adventure vehicle so I can afford some down time, before this trip I drove it to work and back a few times and that was it.

Even after losing the fluid these shocks performed amazingly and I am happy with my purchase. If anyone has any questions I am happy to answer them.

Thanks for the review! I have the same coilovers, and love them. I purchased the same FJ rear shocks also, and they should ship out any day now. Keep us up to date on the piggy back sliding issue. I hope you find a fix for it.

I had the same issues with my Radflos in the rear. They had resi with a short hose and it was mounted back on the shock bofy like a piggyback. It would rotate and hit the rear sway bar. I ended up removing them off the body and mounting the resi to the frame and it solved the problem. As far as tightening that top nut, Steve at Sonoran suggested not overtightening that nut as the rubber bushing needs room to move around and flex.

So is ADS planning on making triple bypass shock or even a 3rd Gen 4Runner specific shock?
When I called ADS directly, they told me that they didn’t plan on producing a shock for the 3rd Gen cause there isn’t a market for it.

So after yesterdays little wheeling trip the rears didnt budge from where I had them. I can still twist them by hand with some good effort but they stayed put when I needed them too. I still think I am going to outboard mount them but I hve the piece of mind for now that they will stay put.
