Advice on 2003 V8 Maintenance Requirements....

So my truck rolled over the dreaded 90,000 miles Friday. I need to do the timing belt ASAP (Due to age, not mileage even though Toyota recommends 90,000 intervals).

So far I have:
1) oil change (Due about 350 miles ago)
2) Tires (Just warn down)
3) Detail (It's filthy, I've gotten lazy and really busy lately)
4) Timing belt/ tensionors/ pulleys/ water pump/belts
5) Radiator flush
6) A/C recharge (Never been done and the highest it got in Georgia this year was 90 degrees, and it couldn't keep up. Checked for leaks, there are none.)
7) Trans drain & fill (Not sure on this, fluid is still very much red and does not smell burnt what so ever. I think I'll hold off on this unless I need to do it)
8) Power steering fluid flush (It is quite dirty)
9) Air filter
10) Spark plugs. Engine feels down on power a little, avg. about 12-14 MPG city, 17-18MPG hwy. Something is off.
11) fuel system cleaning. I don't think this is necessary, but I have access to all of the machines to do everything. Just want to keep her in tip-top shape.
12) Diff fluid change
13) breaks (just a quick service, like a quick greasing. They make a horrid screeching sound, but only when backing up. Sounds like something isn't moving freely. Breaks still have good pressure & performance.

So, is there anything I can cross off/ add/ forget about? I love this truck to death & want to keep it forever. Any suggestions/ tough love is appreciated. Thanks in advance :rockon:

2) Tires (Just warn down) perfect time to hunt craigslist for a bigger set, might want to consider FJ swap for height/bigger tires
3) Detail (It's filthy, I've gotten lazy and really busy lately)Thats up to you, i parked my truck early in the morning. removed my seats and took out the carpet. snuck over to a self service laundry place. used the larged quad loader washer and in 30 minutes i had a fresh clean carpet. NOTE 99% of these places say NO CARPETS ALLOWED LoL
4) Timing belt/ tensionors/ pulleys/ water pump/belts mine was done @ 164k, when it came out it looked good, just little stress cracks, was over due. no evidence that previous owners ever had it done. they took it only to toyota for service. saw records from day one when it was delivered up till 162k when he had oil changed. mine did show signs of water pump leaking but then dried up. i bought all oem red box stuff, why? critical part that i do not want to worry about for another 150k. there are cheaper aftermarket parts at half the price but how long will it last? extra money worth the piece of mind
5) Radiator flush should have done that every two years, regardless of age, or miles
6) A/C recharge (Never been done and the highest it got in Georgia this year was 90 degrees, and it couldn't keep up. Checked for leaks, there are none.) just get a can of self charge and gas her up, thats what i did, it was down .3 lbs

9) Air filter cheap self service thing that should have been done at half the miles
10) Spark plugs. Engine feels down on power a little, avg. about 12-14 MPG city, 17-18MPG hwy. Something is off. changing the plugs on a v8 is easy, 1 hour max for the whole job. do it, your wallet will thank you in the long run with better mpg and possibly more life out of your cats (btw i just dropped $1425 fixing my problem and that took 3 months to sort out)
11) fuel system cleaning. I don't think this is necessary, but I have access to all of the machines to do everything. Just want to keep her in tip-top shape. seafoam it, nice spy hunter smoke screen
12) Diff fluid changeoh do all three things under there, front and rear diff and transfer case. they will thank you in the long run. dont forget lubing the driveshafts and all the u joints

Breaks still have good pressure & performance. probably worn brake shoes. inspect them all. sometimes like in my case, looking at them thru the wheel looks fine, but the back side was all messed up. they were not gripping. cost me $100 for front and rear pads, $130 for all four rotors aftermarket. lots of reading on t4r and brake fluid. about $250 and its all good.

i added in what i did in bold. if you read thru my build thread. you will see what i did in repairs and maintainence since i had it in the last 6 months.

also do your cabin filter too.

my order of repairs would be. what i paid to do it is listed also

things i would do:
9 $15
10 $80
11 $8 can of seafoam
6 $20 of freon
5 $30 two gallons of prestone
1 $50 royal purple and fram filter
13 $250 new rotors aftermarket and dealer pads/shoes, should need it after 90k

things i paid mechanic to do.
4 $500 in dealer parts, $250 labor
7 was done at dealership from previous owner @ 144k. he toasted the trans. $4000 job! hurray for me
12 front and rear diff and transfer case bought redline 75w90 $15 per qt, needed 6qts $90

8, i have not done that yet. probably should look into it LoL
3 find some time and just do it
2 perfect time for some mods, or find a set of take offs froma 5th gen to just get you thru the winter and put that off

my advice is from one v8 to another v8 owner and mine has double your miles so much of the list was long long over due too! I basically took my car to Stage 0, term we volvo guys like to use as back to original fully maintained condition.

I'm in GA, it hardly snows here. Rims here are all year, not seasons LOL. Cabin air filter was done about a month ago (It was about a year old & pitch black, lol) Carpet I'm not going to both with. I cleaned it with one of those rug doctor things from Kroger with the upholstery tool things & it did great, but bleach accidentally spilled on it. I want to put in rubber floors, so carpet it on the back burner. Seats have covers on them, so it's just a detail really of the exterior & interior surfaces. Should only take an afternoon, so in other words today, lol. I used to work at a shop that specialized in Toyota/Lexus/Scion service & still very good friends with them so all I pay for is materials & I do the labor myself. It's just finding the money for those materials, and I need to know what I need to prioritize. Air filter is a few years old (hasn't been changed since I bought it 10/3/11 @ 55,777 miles. I think that is one of the things & I just ordered my mom a 2014 Highlander as an early 60th B day present. I also have bills & rent, so money is few & far between. My truck is a 2WD as well, so I only have the rear axle.

Good catch on that. Completely forgot about the break fluid, still looks clean but I'll do it for good measure.

BTW, since Friday I've driven another 350 miles. So now my oil change is around 700 miles overdue.

I usually use synthetic so 7,500 miles but right now it has conn. oil so 3-5,000.
