Advice on price for a 1989 4 runner

Hello Forum:

Seeking your advice on a reasonable price range.

I'm reluctantly considering selling my 1989 4 runner. See pictures attached. I'm the second owner and planned on driving her forever. I'd say it is in far above-average condition with 304,000 kilometers.

Spent a lot of time and effort keeping her my daily driver: timing chain, gas tank, idler arm, tire rods, rotors, brakes, alternator, calipers, master and slave clyinders to name a few. Seats are excellent, no cracks in dash. Frame is decent. New exhaust pipe, catalytic and O2 sensor. 1990 22RE motor with 175,000 on it. Also have new muffler to be installed sometime when the existing one starts to go. Near new directional tires. Professionally repainted 8 years ago. Runs, steers and brakes well. Has passed mechanical inspection with no issues.

Has a few small rust spots where the paint is starting to bubble needs rear fenders and the tailgate has been patched. Driver's wheel-well has a patch near the feet. Some rust along rear-bed seams but no holes. Rear carpet has a few stains. Is starting to get a slight "4 runner" sag in the leaf springs.

Any thoughts on what is a reasonable price range?

Good mechanical condition, fair cosmetic condition, that's a $2000-$2500 truck around here. If you have maintenance records and receipts, you could add $200-$300. Prices will be different where you are, your best bet is to check your local autotrader and classifieds and see what similar trucks are selling for.

Used car prices vary all over, around here $2K max.
Check local sources like local 4x4 club sites.

Haha. Wish could I found one like that when I was looking for mines. Far better looking condition besides the tailgate, but something like that locally will have people trying to get easy $4k. But to me it's the buyers choice to pay that much if he/she really wants it. Though its kind of the normal around here since a lot of local like toyotas

Around here in Washington state, that would go around $4000-5000. But apparently 4Runners are really expensive up here, since i bought mine for $3000 and i've been offered $7000 for mine.

i would put that in around 1,500 just for the oil spray and rust. if the oil leak wasnt so obvious i would be around 1800$ tops. but i am a hard stickler on these it takes a very clean rig for me to pry open the wallet.

I've put her up for sale (breaks my heart) on the Halifax Kijiji. Asking $4500 which seems quite reasonable in terms of the amount I've invested in the past few years and what others are selling for in Central/Eastern Canada.
It is a fantastic truck that I'm sure someone will enjoy....
