advice on where to buy

Hello and happy holidays to all in these forums. I will be attempting to purchase a new 06 4runner v8 in the next few weeks, and having bought more than a few vehicles before, i enter into this with caution. I would appreciate any advice on members experience with our local [tri state ] toyota dealers. Thanks to all and have a peaceful new year.

Welcome to the site and good luck with your purchase. The best deal will be made by negotiating off the invoice. The best I was able to get was $900 over the invoice. Don't let them include the incentives/rebates. Go at the end of the month. Right now would be the best time, end of month and year!

I bought mine from Prestige Toyota in Ramsey, NJ. It's a bit of a hike for you but they were the least sleazy dealer I found.

Dean is the Sales manager there and I dealt with him.

I bought mine at Atlantic Toyota in Amityville my 4runner was the second toyota I bought there they have a website http://www.atlantictoyota.net/ they had the cheapest prices on long island that I found

Thanks for the replies. I will contact Prestige and Atlantic and keep everyone informed on my progress. I would prefer the 4wd v8 in sr5 trim because the vehicle will mostly be street parked, and the v8 for the awd system. I am selling my 2002 wrx wagon if anyone is interested. thanks all for the welcome and advice.

The 4wd system in the v6 and v8 is identical except you can't switch to 2wd with the v8. You can get the v6 and leave it in 4HI and it'll be just like the v8 system. The v8 is better for towing and if you just have to have a v8 . You might actually get a better deal on the v8 with the public perception of them guzzling more gas but it's only 1-2mpg less than the v6.

Try to get one in stock and they'll be more willing to deal with you.

The SE isn't that much more than the SR5 and comes with more features that I thought was worth it. The limited is about $5k more than the SE and I really couldn't see the value in that since I don't like leather seats.

When you contact Prestige and talk to Dean, tell him Bobby the pain in the ass with the Strat. Mica sent ya .

I highly recommend Galaxy Toyota in Eatontown, New Jersey. It may be a bit of a drive for you from Brooklyn, but it is well worth it. If you decide to go there, make sure to see Rich (salesman) and Bill (GM). I had a good experience with them. Their pricing is very fair. A dealer that I don't recommend is Freehold Toyota. I know a few people who had a miserable experience with them.
