Advice please - Check Engine light & code notes Cat Converter bad & manifold

Can I get your advice & comments please?
2004 4Runner V8 with 206,000 miles.
I get the Check Engine light on steady.
Shop says Cat Converter bad per code.
Shop says need to replace left manifold and cat converter.

Is this normal? Common? Typical?

Any things to try, advice, comments, questions to ask of shop?

You need to post the actual code number/s that triggered the CEL.
