This is a bit unrelated to the original post, however I am looking for some advice on a bit of a repair issue with this item. Whether it be a poor installation on my part or a faulty product (rare but possible), the two end tips of my AVS Aeroskin hood protector have started to "unstick." This has allowed moisture/dust/pollen to get on the adhesive pad and essentially not allowing it to adhere properly.
I am afraid this may get worse, however right now it is not more then 1 inch on each end.
I have already contacted Lund International for advise, and they essentially replied requesting information for a warranty replacement. While I do not feel this issue warrants a full replacement, does anyone have any suggestions for products/solutions to supplementally adhere these ends down to resolve this? Or has the damage already been done and things will only get worse?
I believe what is originally used is some sort of 3M adhesive tape, I simply don't want to go about trying to "glue" this down with the wrong product. Keep in mind that this area likely gets hot with the sun and engine heat, so will need to be able to withstand these extremes.
Thanks for any input on this. Worst case, I suppose I can try to process the warranty replacement, however removing the existing product does not sound like it would be easy.
Edit: I want to add that regardless of this situation, I am very happy with this product and the customer service I have received, thus far. I still recommend this to anyone, as I feel my situation may have been neglect on my part.
