aftermarket front bumpers

this question is for everyone that has an aftermarket front bumper with winch.

has anyone reinforced the flange with mounting holes for your front bumper? flange seems kind of thin and i'm pretty sure it's not designed to be pulled. Or am I over thinking.

My Demello came with a bracket that re enforces it. Pretty thick. Bolts on. It basically sandwiches the mount between it.

I think most if not all winch bumpers come with some sort of reinforcement there.

I ordered a pelfreybilt and yesterday I was looking at my buddy’s taco that just recently installed a pelfreybilt. He told me the flange is very thin and he was going to reinforce the flange. So I’m thinking I will probably have the same problem.

I thought that plate was a bit thin when I built my DIY winch plate. I secured my mount to the 3 bolts on the outside of each and that's it unfortunately. So far so good. In hindsight I wish it extended down to engage the threaded holes in the side of the frame member.
