I've been having this issue for a while now. About a year ago I got an aftermarket head unit installed in my 2004 limited. The rig has the JBL sound system, with steering wheel controls. The install shop said I needed an additional box that housed the steering wheel controls as well as the translation language for the factory amp. Reason for this is that the factory system is all analog signal, and the aftermarket system is a digital signal. Makes sense.
At first I had a pioneer system installed. Had issues with sound cutting out on some speakers randomly, then after an undetermined amount of time, the sound would cut out all together. The only way I was able to recover sound was to turn off the vehicle for about 5 minutes or more and restart. It does not happen all time either. I can go weeks with no problems, but then there are times where I drive for a few minutes and it cuts out.
After about a month or two, I got fed up with it enough to where I took the vehicle back to my installer and had them swap everything out to a kenwood setup. Same problem exists.
It does not matter whether I am playing radio, cd, USB plug in or Bluetooth. A new issue that came up with the kenwood is that if I am driving around and running errands, go into a store for a few minutes and come back out (this is only with the Bluetooth), restart the vehicle, the Bluetooth reconnects, but then have no sound. I can see the song time moving as if it's playing on the screen, but no sound.
Any ideas? Thanks guys.
