Aftermarket Rack and Pinon

So I was just informed by the dealer my rack and pinon was leaking and needed to be replaced. Well the dealer wants $1300 for the part and 400 for labor, THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

I found a few aftermarket parts out there, and one from AAE that looks attractive. Does anyone have any experience with any aftermarket parts and if so what do you recommend?

We use a lot of CarQuest parts as aftermarket alternatives when customer needs a cheaper part and/or has a Non-Toyota vehicle. They hold up pretty well and are fairly well priced from what I have seen.

Have you had any good luck with rock auto? that have pretty dang good prices on the rack and pinon.

Rock Auto has had decent parts from my experience, I don't know how they deal in some parts though... I knows things like Steering Racks, Pumps, ect tend to have a Core Cost (which means giving the old part back to them)to reduce price to the customer so I don't know how they handle that stuff to be honest.

Also stores like Carquest, Napa, and such tend to have a warranty policy on those parts if they do fail prematurely. I'm not sure how Rock Auto handles they're warranties since their and online company.

Just figured I'd ask your opinion. I know one of the ones they sell has a core charge. and the other doesn't. but still $400, and $200 off after returning the core is rather reasonable.
