Aftermarket sunroof deflector

I have a 2002 Limited, and am looking into getting an aftermarket wind deflector for my sunroof. Can anybody tell me if they make a difference in noise or turbulence? Also, any suggestions on which ones are better than others?

I was looking on the JC Whitney website. The deflectors there just stick on with a glue. Is there a deflector with a better mounting system?

ALso, what size do I need?

I have a simple AVS one that uses 3M tape and it's been on for over 4 years and shows no signs at all that it is going anywhere ands it cost less than $40. It does keep some of the wind noise down but it could be better but I like mine.

I'm undecided on the sunroof visor. Mine came with a factory one, but it looks kind of bulky sometimes.

All they do is cut down on noise?

And reduces wind in the front of the cabin at highway speeds;it also helps to crack the rear window to reduce pressure buildup which quiets things down noticeably.

I bought mine off of Ebay. It is the one that attaches with the 2 clips. I don't trust the 3M tape on ones. I'vs had it for awhile without any issues.

can anybody give me a size? I measured the opening with a tape maeasure and got 37 inches. is this right? do I need the 38 and a half inch deflector or larger like the 40 or 41 incher?

Anybody know?

How do the clips work? I had a deflector on my 3rd gen but it was from the factory and had two screws that fastened into the roof. I want to get around the 3M but dont want to drill. Also how much did it run you?

Got the same one Ron has at Pep boys. Just measure the sunroof opening and get the closest deflector size.

The 3M stuff is like concrete it will never come off. Not even if you want it to.

But i'm still not sure I like how it looks on mine.... its like a mustache.

If I ever had to take mine off I'm not sure how easy that would be since that 3M tape truly is like concrete on there and even after the 4 years it's been on there it shows zero signs of even pulling up around the edges which is surprising.

You need to have the sunroof open when installing. It's pretty easy. The clips will fit under the front edge/lip of the sunfoof and then you screw the deflector onto the other end of the clips with the hardware provided. Not hars at all. I put one on my wifes Maxima a few years back and my sisters Infiniti G35.

Oh ya, I paid like $40+ for it, but good quality and will last a life time. Cheaper that buying from the dealer for sure.
