My husband, without my permission, took my 2011 Limited mudding on NYE. Since then, my air conditioning is not blowing as cold. It works on low, but when you start to turn it to 66 and up, it starts to feel warm, like the fan only is blowing. I cleaned out the air filter. Any insight before I take it in?

Hi bfly,
Your fifth gen limited's hvac system is automated, and managed on a 'Logic module platform'. What this means is that the system (unlike a straight mechanical cooling design) decides whether your cooling demand will require a full outdoor air introduction, a mixture of outdoor air and mechanical refrigeration to meet the demand, or mechanical refrigeration only; which will happen when the OAQ (outdoor air quality) is less than ideal e.g., too warm or too humid to introduce into the controlled air space.
Having said that... the system operator can also By-pass the sophisticated logic system when a quick cool-down is desired by turning the temperature control (thermostat) all the way down to the 'LOW' setting. This feature allows the hvac system to ignore all temp/humid/enthalpy curves and gives the operator complete control of his/her "conditioned" environment. So if it was somewhat cold out on the day of the "questionable" A/C system operation, it was likely just considering O.A.Q. over supply air discharge temperature... "nothing to worry about," hope this helps!

Make sure the ambient temperature sensor in the grill (it's on the little vertical support in front of the radiator when you pop the hood) is clean. Also make sure the condensor and radiator are clean of mud as well as the drain tube isn't caked over in mud also.

Make him clean every last spec of mud from the vehicle, including all the mud that has now made it's home ontop of the transmission and in the frame. I'll give you a hint, if it's mostly clay based mud... that ain't coming out easy if ever. Upside? Custom Ceramic Coated Exhuast. 
He is in grad school getting his PhD, so he is in school from sun up to sun down. I stay home with the baby, so I take care of EVERYTHING.
I totally get that, but it has become my mom mobile for our 15 month old. Things change, and we must change with them.
