Air Conditioning: Working on passanger side only

I've taken part a few panels on the dash board trying to remedy my wife's AC issue on her 2006 4Runner Sport. It's apparent that cold air only blows on the passanger side and not the driver side (from the center vents-left), including the defrost and floor vents. My best guess or theory is that she probably had a "ticket" from a parking garage slide down thru the defrost vents and is somehow holding a vent door open/closed in the AC/Heater housing. Good Assumption?

If that's the case, what's the best way/easiest way to get into the housing without completely dismantling the dashboard? Thanks for any input.

it may be just blocked or stuck door but could be a few things, blend door actuator, low refridgerant, compresser going, expansion valve, filter/drier element, etc. as u know alot of ac problems are big $. hope it works out well for u. goodluck

had the same problem..took it to the dealer and they said my freon was low..recharged the system and everything works good..$60.00 total What did you find wrong with your 4Runner?
