Air Suspension leaking down

So my 05 v8 can't decide if it wants to ride on the air bags or just sit on the axle. When I go out first thing in the morning it has leaked down dramatically, it does come up when I crank it up. Also when idling you can feel it drop and then pump itself back up every few minutes. Where should I be looking for the leak? I assume there is a release valve on the system to lower it, could this be stuck? i plan on replacing both air bags when I crawl under there just looking for any insight. Thanks for your help. BTW 197k on the clock and still running strong.

With 197k, I'm going to guess its the airbags itself that are leaking and they will need to be replaced

Yah I would say its typically the bags that fail...that's were my system failed anyways. Turn your truck on, let the bags fill up, shut it off and crawl under, you'll be able to hear where the air is leaking out.

Most if not all air suspensions typically leak at the bags. If you can, what you may want to do is; with the key OFF (never on when lifting Air Suspension vehicles!) jack up the rear axle until the axle is at full droop. Then support the rear end so the axle is drooping freely and inspect the bags for cracks/leaks, a spray bottle of windex helps.
