Airbag Cover Question

I've looked around the forum for a couple of days now and haven't really found the perfect answer to a problem I might run into. Back when I first bought my 4runner, I blacked out the emblem on the steering wheel. Fast forward to today and years have shown their face to it. I would love to swap it out with a new cover but I'm not 100% sure how the old cover comes off the airbag. I realize that I'll need to remove the airbag in order to do this but does anybody know if the old cover is removable once the airbag is out? I figured that it has to be slightly possible if they are able to sell individual covers but still unsure.

I think it's all one unit. The black vinyl is part of the airbag. Not just a cover that can be replaced.
