So I know this has been covered in most respects but I think I’m asking a different question. I opened my cover (small inspection cover over timing chain tensioner) to inspect the timing chain tensioner with a scope. There was no leak to begin with and I purchased a new gasket. Followed Vikings Garage guidance on which direction the bump should be. Cleaned both surfaces as well as I could reinstalled and torqued to spec (as close as possible on two bolts as there’s no room to get a socket in due to the lines in front. (I referenced the tightness on the two I could get torque wrench on by hand and copied that on other two) I’m pretty used to lightweight torque feel due to wrenching on a lot of different things like bikes, motos, foils, and cars so I’m confident it was very close.
Fast forward a couple days later and you guessed it there’s a very slight weep coming from the cover! I’m going to order another gasket (they’re cheap like 6-7$) and try again but I’m curious if anyone has ended up using toyota fipg or a similar sealant to get this thing to stay leak free?
