airbag light...clock spring?

replaced the clock spring with OEM 2 years ago because of the airbag light coming on on the dash. Airbag light has come on again. What all does the clock spring control in a 2006 SR5? Just the airbag in the steering wheel?
Thanks

I'll be replacing mine on Saturday with an eBay unit. It controls the airbag, volume controls, horn, and cruise control.

I'm curious why my steering wheel controls still work for the volume, cruise and horn still work?

Mine were like that for a while. Steering wheel controls still worked, but air bag light was on. Now steering controls have gone out also. Need to replace the clock spring. . .

Well, it looks like I have an extra clock spring. I bought one from a guy who pulled it from a GX, then he sent an eBay message saying he changed his mind and a PayPal refund was pending. So I went ahead and bought a Chinese unit and installed it. Mail shows up today and the GX clock spring arrives. Trying to decide if I should sell it or keep it as a spare.

diagnosis question: I have the airbag light in the gauge cluster blinking while I drive now (07 Limited, just under 200k). Upon initial research I’m assuming its the clock spring, and seems that worth trying instead of going to the stealership to get the code read. HOWEVER I still have steering wheel controls (volume, cruise, etc.. ), would this mean it’s something else than the clock spring considering people say they lose all the steering wheel controls as well?

I found this unit off of Rock Auto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...v8,1434457,interior,air+bag+clockspring,10480

It’s an SKP and, while probably not as good as OEM, has anyone had experience with this unit? It’s about half their cost and I have 200K on the rig already so I figured it’d do the trick.
