Airbag Light in Center Stack

The passenger air bag on/off function and light works exactly as it should. However, I did notice that the word "Airbag" is always lit when the headlights are on, regardless of whether or not anyone is sitting in the passenger seat. Should this be on? FYI- my airbag warning light in the gauges is not coming on to indicate any problem.

I'm not sure that the "Airbag" light itself means that. Right below that light are the words "ON" and "OFF" and they come on when they should, along with this light. If there is a full size adult sitting in the seat, it reads "ON". If there is a heavy bag of groceries for instance, it reads "OFF". My concern is this light was never on for the first couple months I had it but now it's on all the time when the headlights are on. The "ON" and "OFF" lights are not on when the seat is empty.

Just for reference purposes, the airbag light in my t4r lights up only when my headlights or parking lights are on. The on/off work as yours does in your second post. (just tested it)

Just my opinion, the only light that should make you concerned about airbag trouble should be the one in the cluster. I've had lights come and go on the AC and info panel a couple times.

Hope this helps...

Solid, that helps. I guess it must have always been on but I never noticed it. What got me thinking something was wrong was in all my previous vehicles with passenger side airbag on/off function, the light never came on unless someone was sitting there. Good to hear it's nothing to worry about and I can put this issue to bed:thumb3:
