Airbag light SRS

Airbag light is on, but scanguage doesnt pull any codes. Nothing pending either.

11 Trail 66k miles, turned on and off several times. Have not disconnected battery yet. A couple weeks ago i noticed the passenger airbag off light momentarily when a passenger was in the seat. Hit a bump and it flipped to on.

Any ideas?

I've been battling this issue for about a year now. Airbag light on for a day, sometimes a few days, sometimes a week. Then it goes out for no apparent reason. Sometimes it stays off for months.

I don't get it- truck is possessed.:wacko:

I have a similar issue on my '06 van. Toyota acknowledged the on-going issue and extended the warranty. You should check with the dealer.

Scangauge probably will not pick up an SRS DTC, don't think there's a manual check either. Would need the DTCs to get any idea what to do, in the mean time you're airbag system is no longer functioning with the light on.

Remove anything from that seat, also some people stash things next to seat and b-pilar such as sun-shade. Remove all, if it doesn't fix then you've bad ocupant sensor.

Follow-up:

The dealer charged me $69.99 to look at it. There was a code stored for driver knee bag. I saw the code written on the paper they kept, but it is not written on the receipt I got. The tech checked connection, cleared the code and rechecked. All clear.

Where is that roll-eyes icon???

Mine fixed itself and hasn't been on in quite a while...

I bet it comes on next time I get in the truck now.
