Airbag recall??

Dealership offered loaner

Got a call from the stealership and they offered me a loaner camry or corolla if I take my 2011 4runner and leave it there until threre's a fix for this. He mentioned there's absolutely no ETA on the fix. He said it could take two weeks or over six months, no clue whatsoever. So do I take it in and leave it there for half a year, or do I keep it and have the missus sit in the 3rd row (back seats taken up by child car seats)? This is nuts

2017 delayed dang

Hello all,

New to the forum.

Have contacted 16 dealers so far to which 5 have called and the last 2 confirmed they received a letter stating the delay of 2017 4Runners. I've worked my whole life to get this incredible machine. It's pretty frustrating but I'm a patient man. I guess they are still waiting on those approved airbags.

How did you get a loaner? Toyota told me no loaners. I specifically asked. Toyota, not a dealer.

Hey sorry missed your post, and sorry to hear that.

Set it up through Lexus corporate. I had to go to an out-of-town Lexus dealer since my local dealer wouldn't assist.

Sounds like Toyota owners are being offered loaners too more recently. If you're still without a solution, I suggest being a squeaky wheel. Good luck!!
