Aisin Hubs? Which ones?

So I have Warn hubs that I got off craigslist from a 1st gen 4Runner. Slapped them right into my 2nd gen. Well I got a little throttle happy and broke one. Now I'm looking to replace them with a pair of Aisin hubs. The problem I'm having is everyone seems to offer or have 26 spline hubs. I'm lead to believe that my '90 IFS is a 27 spline. Is there a difference? Are they the same? I can't seem to find info anywhere. Help!!

IFS hubs are 27 spline
SA Hubs are 30 spline.

Just make sure you get Toyota Aisin Hubs, if I recall correctly Aisin also made hubs for Isuzu and Suzuki...

I wouldn't recommend ordering from wab-fab. I spent a ton of cash ordering stuff from him to build my 81.
His business practices took a turn for the worse a few years ago..he was banned from several forums

Yeah, Aisin is the way to go. Couldn't find a pair for myself when I was searching for one so I had to settle for a Superwinch, that I got a good deal on. No complaint so far though, as long as you don't trail it hard.

Thanks guys for all the info. I found a used set of Aisin 26 spline for $100. So I'll see if they fit once they get here. Even on Warn's site they are calling them 26 spline. I guess we'll see!

that's odd. I think I have a set, and im pretty sure they were 27.
id have to count them again.


that said, just count YOUR axle splines. you will know immediately.

If you bought the hubs and they came from an IFS 1st gen 4runner or pickup they are going to fit your 2nd gen without an issue. So, dont worry about the spline count. If you were rocking the WARN ones for 1st gen 4runners, then you know the AISINS will fit.

So I think I've figured it out! There is 27 splines (ridges) and 26 indents on the half shafts (CV's). There is 26 splines (ridges) and 27 indents on the hubs. So all of you that said 27 spline yes you are right. As for all the companies that said 26 spline. Yes they are right too!! I hope this sheds some light for those who wind up upon this thread!

Cruiser Outfitters had the ones I needed for my FJ80....but they carry IFS, SA, etc.

Scroll down about half way....new Aisin hubs start at $108-158 ea.

Wab fab

I've heard different opinions about wab fab but I bought my supplies to rebuild my hubs from him this summer and had no issues at all.
