Alarm Install Help

Hey guys,

I just bought an Audiovox Prestige APS997C Alarm system. I was hoping you all had experience installing it. I was thinking about doing it myself but I am not sure. Also, do I need any other components to make it work? I have a 2000 Limited.

You will need two IN4001 diodes and an additional relay for the power locks to operate properly with Toyotas Child door lock safety system. That being said, I didn't and rarely does it become a problem.

I don't know about that particular alarm. I avoided Audiovox like the plague when I was in the industry.

Audiovox was pretty low on the food chain of aftermarket equipment. Their quality may have increased over the years though. I can't say for sure because they aren't marketed locally anymore (no large distributors in town.)
