alarm problem

Newbie here.

Just bought 01 limited 4x4 with 101k love it but I can't turn off the horn beebs and a chirp when locking or unlocking. I have both a security light in center above radio and one on the steering column. Took it to a knowledgable mechanic and he couldn't turn it off. 'I have searched a lot of the threads and haven't come up with a solution.

Next strep is dealer or a car electronics guy.

Anybody know how to turn this off.

did a quick search online: depends on which system you have... here is some instructions for the RS3000 system (fairly common). Look down at the "PIEZO OPERATION MODE". good luck.

Thanks, I am taking it to an auto sound guy tomorrow. They think I have an aftermarket alarm and will disconnect it.

Aftermarket alarm

With the aftermarket alarm, u will no longer use ur factory alarm remote at all.

BUT u will however have 2 layers of protection.

The factory and then the aftermarket with allows more options that can be added and the range to arm, disarm, unlock you doors. The only feature I see you losing is the rear window control (up and down). I could care less about it.
