Alarm Problem

My 2001 4Runner i believe has two alarm systems, one is factory and the other is some kind of securikey 5+ system. The other day my securikey remote fell in the water and does not work. So I ordered a factory remote off ebay which at this point i have successfully programmed and works fine, however i cannot seem to disable the securikey (which is annoying and too loud). When I lock the car with the factory remote the securikey automatically re-locks the doors approx 30 secs later. When i unlock the car with the factory remote the alarm still goes off. I have disconnected the battery, put in new remote batteries and i still cant get it to go off. Any suggetions?

Sounds like the aftermarket is pulling your battery down. I would take the aftermarket out if it continues to give you these problems. At least maybe you could disconnect the power for now until you get it fixed.

Call your dealership. Securikey is a dealer installed alarm and your dealership should have a securikey remote. I just got two for my sisters Sienna for $39 each. They can program them at the dealership or you can contact gulf states toyota and they'll send you a PDF file with programming instructions.
