Alert on low oil and atf level and ran out fluid?

Hi all!
In theory, can low engine oil ran out (low quality oil filter spilt in half, or drain plug flew out for example) that got any alert on dash before it toast the engine? How like to transmission simillar?

Alert dash can make toast, but oil engine for like to transmission not dash.

I think I missing something here but no light is going to save you if you run out of engine or tranny fluid.
