I'm having my Gobi rack installed in 1 week. I live in Denver, so it's a local install for me. I'm putting a 2x6" Flood LED on each side, as well as 2 on the back. I want to put a 40" spot/flood combo on the front. Gobi only sells Rigid, and I can't justify 2k worth of lights when I use them once, or maybe twice a month camping. I have a few questions I could really us a hand with if you don't mind.

What brand/model is your second installation? Are you still happy with it?

If you don't mind me asking, by the time you spent the money on the additional quality wiring harness and circuit breakers, sealant etc, what was your total cost of installation?

Last, do you have any examples/wiring diagrams of how you've wired them into your 4runner and run the lines? I've done a lot of home wiring, but never automotive, so I'm a bit leery of doing it myself without any examples to look at.

This is the light I ended up keeping. It still works amazingly well. It came in really handy at the lake Labor day weekend. Same with the rear spots.

I'd say it was probably about $200 total in other parts and stuff after the install. Most of that being the $130 for the Cooper Bussman fuse box, then wiring, connectors, techflex etc.

I just followed the guidelines of the wiring diagrams that came with my AOB switches and the Bussman fuse box. There are lots of threads here that I looked at too. As far as runnning the wires, I just used a hanger to poke them through the grommet in the firewall and then ran 2 wires up each side of weather stripping on the windshield. It was a tight fit with the 12AWG wire, but it fit. Lube always helps :eyebrows:

Awesome build and pictures man!! You were definitely all over my neck of the woods. I was back home just about a month after that for a 10 day trip. I'll try to throw some photos up in my build thread as well.
Do you know the owner's name of the VRBO you stayed in? That Area is called North County and that is my home community. I know pretty much everyone up there.
Did you make it into the schoolhouse for Pizza and drinks? Great little spot on the mountain.
If you're still looking for input for next year let me know and I can point you in a ton of directions. I grew up there for 23 years before I moved away.

Nice G by the way. How did you like that Uprev tune? I have a cable with license, ready to go, just need to get it to the tuner and on the Dyno. But my clutch is about to go, so I think I need to fix that first. Other stuff is:
Injen true dual, 5/16 plenum spacer, JWT popcharger, Tein coilovers, TE37s
As for the truck...well there is a thread for that now

Thanks man. It was definitely an amazing trip and I can't wait to get back there. I feel like I barely scratched the surface with what can be explored.

I don't remember the owner's name of the VRBO place. It was listed through a management company on the website. I'll say he LOVED his dead animals, there were heads and carcasses all over that place, on the walls and everywhere. We tried to stop by the schoolhouse the first night there but the wait was over 2hrs for a couple pizza's. Looked like an awesome dive to hang out. Definitely dive bar staff attitude if you know what i mean...

The tune on the G was pretty good. Nothing to crazy though. Gains were OK at about +20/20 on HP/TQ. Was it worth it? I'm not sure. It did clean up my A/F ratios and help with a few other things. The VQ37VHR engine in the G37 just wasn't meant to handle bolt ons and be tuned. You could push it off a cliff with UpRev and the VVEL software would bring it right back to where it liked it. I think the 350 Z's handle the tunes much better, especially the older DE engines. It's been a few years since I've got out of that though so who knows what's changed.

Great looking Z. I still miss mine every time I see a G/Z on the road. Maybe once the Runner is paid off I can find my way into another one

Hey Alex, nice build! I'm in OK too, Jenks. I'm considering getting a lift kit with the SPC LR UCA and was wondering if you had adjusted ball joint attachment points or if you used the setting that it was shipped with?

Thanks man. My parents are from Jenks. Are you referring to the caster adjustments? If so, then yes I adjusted them when I did an alignment to get around +4* of caster. I don't remember the setting, but if you check the forum it's pretty easy to find.

This is definitely my dream build, you have executed this perfectly and I can't get enough of these pics, man. I love the bronze on white and so few people do it! Bronze works on every color and I see so few bronze wheels out in the real world. I love how the black fender flares give it an even taller appearing stance as well. Those lug nuts set off the wheels perfectly too. IN LOVE WITH THIS RIG

Couple update from the past month or so. Got a B40/A118 generic dash cam with GPS installed then also got a set of Canvas Back liners for my birthday last month.

Also rolled over 30K and did my first personal oil change on the 4Runner. Went pretty smoothly other than trying to reinstall the front skid being a b!Tc* and causing me to dump my used oil all over the garage :mad2:.

30K in only 1 year, 9 months and 19 days. Here's to another 30K :cheers:

Still need to rotate the tires and retorque the suspension and lift. Getting a loud clunk again now that the weather has gotten cold.

Got the custom Bussmann relay/fuse block installed and started wiring it up. Quality is amazing, looks OEM when it's all closed up. This is where I ordered it off eBay.
