Alignment needed?

I'm at a point where I'm not sure if I want to go ahead and start my lift or not. I'm about to pick up some FJ Cruiser springs for the front. If I install just the FJ springs, will I need an alignment afterwards? If not, I'll go ahead and get them. Otherwise, I'll need to wait until the summer when I'll be buying new tires and adding a topout spacer (will definitely be getting the alignment then). Thanks!

I did my FJ springs without an alignment and ran it that way for a while. I did start getting minor outer edge wear but nothing I couldn't keep ahead of with rotation.

Why not do the lift, align it and do the tires next summer? The doughnut look is in for '10  :bigok:

I don't see the point in getting an alignment now and another in 4-6 months. I've never been one to take care of my tires as I probably should (rarely rotate and such). I'm in no hurry, and I probably will sill go ahead and get the springs, but just hold on to them and do it all at once. From the shock thread, looks like Bilsteins are a no go, so it'll be this setup on the XREAS and it'll be reused when I switch to KYB (when the time comes). Thanks!

If your getting new tires, who cares what happens to the old ones?

Before I got mine replaced I Tokyo drifted every corner. There were lit no sidewall grooves at all.

My front tires wore more on the inside than out w/ the stock alignment.

With a decent (ewps, I didn't rotate them for ~25k miles) rotation, the Michelin Cross Terrains went 61k (2 plugs, 1 1" thick piece of something leaving me w/ one spare). Knowing this, I did a springs & spacer lift and drove around for a bit.

~150 miles later, I got an alignment from Elk Grove Toyota (who charged me for a 2 wheel alignment versus 4 which was nice).

In that 150 miles, there was little to no difference in handling, in either the city or highway driving.

I don't know if the same goes for every state or location, but as far as I know Firestone offers a lifetime alignment for somewhere around $100...just something to ask about, sorry if it's not true everywhere lol

I've got a deal on FJC Springs, so I've got another question on this. If I install the front springs and a front spacer, it's been decided I need the alignment. However, If I do the alignment, then get new tires about 5-6 months from now, would I need a second alignment? I'm not sure if the new tires would throw the alignment off or if I would be fine (probably going 255/75/17's with the new ones). Thanks!

Alright. I'm just trying to find a way to do the lift now and new tires in a few months without getting two alignments. I'm not positive how long I can go on these tires, and I'd like all the life I can get (gonna say 6 months or so, but that's a guess).
