Alignment question

I have 2017 trd offroad i got in august 2017). At 500 miles i got the trd wheels and 275 65r17 tires mouted and balanced at the dealership. After a few days i realized thr car was pulling to the right (even on flat non crowned roads and parking lots) and the car is strait whe the steering wheel is is at like 1130 or 1145. If i let go of the wheel the steering wheel stays in the same position but the car drifts right (so im pretty much always countersteering)

I brought it in not long aftet to get aligned (which i thought they did at thr time of inatall) it still did the same thing after although the drift wasnt as bad (but still not great. I left it alone cause i didnt have time to go back in because my pregnant wife was super sick the first trimester. At the 5k service (november) they checked it and said it was fone At the 7.5k (in may) i said i really wanted it fixed. They told me it was fine and that it was because i had off road tires "and they gripped every part of the road" I dont even think they put it on the machine and i wasnt given a printout. I didnt have time to argue and my wife was due that week so i had no time to call or complain. The tire wear measurements were even all around though.

What i need to know is the right way to complain about this. Ive never had a car not be aligned because of tires (or any other reason) Im mechanically inclined but dont know much about how to talk about alignements as ive never had an issue before.

Heres my alignment sheet.

Any help on what to do next would be appreciated!20170902_142817.jpeg

Could be a tire pull- you could swap both front tires. Maybe not likely but just to see. But swapping those caster numbers would be helpful too and more ideal. More caster on the passenger side vs the driver side should combat the road crown. I'm not alignment pro. Just passing on what my alignment guy has shared with me.

You could try swapping front tires left to right to rule out or fix a tire issue since it's quick and easy to do. Also, verify your tire pressures are where they need to be and equal side to side. The next step would be visiting the alignment shop and have them bump up the caster on the passenger side by at least .5*, this will be a starting point. Your truck may require more, maybe less. You will have to drive it on a known flat, smooth road after each time on the rack. The hardest part will be finding an alignment tech and shop that will be willing to put in the time needed to get it right.

The caster split fixes the pull or drift because positive caster gives a vehicle directional stability due to the tire being pulled along by the load which is projected in front of the center of the tire contact area. This causes a vehicle with positive caster (point of load ahead of the point of contact) to be harder to steer away from the straight ahead position. Also, the tire/wheel assembly with more positive caster has a tendency to toe inward when the vehicle is being driven. If one side has more positive caster than the other, this causes it to toe inward with more force than the other side. This will cause a lead or pull to the side with least amount of positive caster which will correct for road crown or other anomalies.

Cross caster is off 3.2 driver, 2.7 passenger. Want it a little higher on passenger side for road crown (or at least make them equal)... That should fix it.

After action report

So the dealer re-balanced the tires cause they werent done correctly the first time. They also checked the alignment and it was off. They also adjusted the tie rods to get the steering wheel strait. The tech did a test drive and ao did the manager.

At this point the car drives strait, no steering wheel wobble, steering wheel is strait, and steering feels more tight.

So they charged me to fix it but aftet i wrote an email to the service manager they refunded what i paid for the fix.

Same thing different customer. These 4runners are ***** to get aligned with the pro wheels. Did you say you had KO2s? Mine still pulls at the slightest crown and both casters are at 3.9.

Wheels should have no difference on the difficulty of alignment. Try raising the caster on the right side by 0.5*, or dropping the driver side by that much.
