All-black running boards on 2014 SR5 and Trail

These are "rigid running boards", option code KH, and I think they are the same for the SR5 and the Trail.

Im going to take a close look at my 2014 SR5 when I get home to double-check if it has side rocker panels(or at least , its not pronounced or protuding too much) I vaguely recall, it does not have,... which seem to match this photo : Roanoke 2014 Toyota 4Runner SR5 New SUV serving Salem serving Christiansburg Haley Toyota of Roanoke | 532830 | JTEBU5JRXE5153594

ok, i just looked on google, it seems that the side rocker panels on the 2014 sr5 is not as pronounced or bulging as the 2013 SR5 which if true will blend it better with rigid running boards or sliders...

so I assume that I don't need to drill holes(i.e. there are 'factory' holes built-in and ready for the running board brackets) if I install this oem rigid running boards myself ?? Thanks

No idea. And while the running boards *look* the same for SR5s and Trails, it does not mean that they are exactly the same with respect to mounting details.

I also have the impression (but no links to back it up) that these boards are a factory or a port option -- this would imply that drilling holes might be necessary. But again, I don't know for sure. Your best bet is to talk to somebody who does.
 
you cant get the rigid "KH" in LE.

you can in the TE/TE-P for sure.

SR5 i havent researched.

there is actually 2 different running board "RB" styles depending on region from what i can tell.
 
just an FYI, According to a nearby local dealer, the 2014 Trail Edition and SR5 running boards are different. Pricing for the Trail Edition is $399 plus tax and the SR5 is $549 plus tax. anyone knows where to buy stock oem running boards cheaper than the dealer ?
I'll get a 2nd opinion from other dealers just to be sure. please post here if the 2014 trail running boards will fit ok on a 2014 SR5 since its cheaper and It looks nice.

for the 2014 owners out there, it looks like older running boards/sliders might not fit (??) I noticed when I looked underneath that the middle and rear bolts are close to each other while the 2 bolts close to the front tires are least twice farther from each other which may or may not be the case in older 4runners as shown in this video:

it might be a good idea if and when you order the running board/sliders to have them assure you that the board will really, really fit the 2014 4runner.

for those who are interested in the all-black polymer molded running board, I googled 3 after-market brands so far that seem to be cheaper than the OEM boards - ionic , westin and deezee

Just got a 2016 SR5 Premium. Since these boards fit the 2014 and 2015 SR5, any reason they wouldn't fit the 2016? I'm slightly spooked that it says TE only, but after earlier SR5 successes (posted above) am willing to give it a try. I like the all black look.

Yes they will fit, I'm currently running them on my 2015 SR5 Premium right now. Since 2014 the TE and SR5 have the same rocker trim so all running boards & sliders should be compatible.

I preferred the pre-2014 trail running boards so that's what I put on mine. They fit 2014-2016 trails and SR5's so mounting is the same on each trim. The Toyota part # is PT938-89100 and they can be ordered though dealers or Amazon. I'm not sure you can order the 'KH' rigid running boards unless you get it as an option from the factory (maybe someone else does).

I have the factory black rigids on my '15 TE and love them. They have held up well and a little Mothers Back To Black on wash day and they look new.
 
What part number are these?

Just took these off my 2016 SR5. That the dealer included OTD. Put on NFAb T1464R nerd bar. These are very nice and have vents, snug with no gaps. Googled the numbers on the boards but no results. What do these go for?

Stock compared to Nfab if anyone wanted to know. The box it came was damn near 6ft long 1x1. If you order online . From and to my 2016 SR5.
