Same here. Having a 40 inch bar is more noise that the 4 Hella lights I had up there before. If you are planning on a light bar, order it with the center post removed so the light bar does not sit ahead of the fairing.

Is there an art to bending the wind deflector around the contour of the roof/window? Just looking for good pointers. Thanks!

it has slides in the mounting tabs. Bolt the center first and then curve it to your liking and bolt the sides.

You just missed one.
I was curious if the unsecured front mounts that rest on the roof cause any damage to the paint or otherwise over extended use?
I'm assuming many have used some sort of vinyl wrap under the wind deflector and possibly the front mounting feet?
Trying to decide between full length Gobi and 3/4's Frontrunner.

The front mounts should be stuck on with 3M tape. They won't sit there freely. I do have a clear wrap underneath the wind deflector. I haven't actually taken it off since the day I got it but I don't see any damage to the paint. Gobi installed mine but I had to put the clear vinyl underneath the wind deflector once I got it all in place with the lights.

Anyone have any issues with accessories? Can you post pics of your solutions for mounting RTTs, water cans, MaxTrax, etc.?

Exactly what I'm mulling over now. Got a quote for a clear bra and I have set an appointment date for the install. Have to confirm with the shop this week and hopefully have it done on Good Friday. The installer recommended the clear bra as it's more durable and would last longer than simply wrapping the roof. There will be some maintenance needed but with a clear bra I wouldn't care so much if I was a bit rough with it far as cleaning and coating it periodically.

I installed my Gobi in February and here is my feedback so far...
Rack and ladder-use 2 people min for ladder..the rack mounts are easy, lifting the rack up takes two people but three is way better. (People over 5'10 is helpful)
Wind noise-yes there is some, but if you aren't super sensitive the radio will drowned it out. Without the wind guard - imagine 747 with no windows taking off.
Wind guard-they now send a sticker/decal to prevent the rubbing debris issue.
High Jack Lift mounts-easy install took minutes, very sturdy.
Overall-I'm very happy I got the Gobi, the cost hurts but it's well worth it. The construction is second to none. Use the install thread on here, it helps fill in needs the instructions leave out. I went with the high rise, stealth with the moveable crossbars but to each their own. Get the light brackets even if you don't buy lights right away, you can add later if you like. They include the ladder for free these days to stay in line with the cost of Baja's rack.
Stay on top of Gobi, their admin is not so great and a check in every month is needed. Hope this helps.
