All Pro 3.5 rear coils

So I haven't found very much on this forum about these rear coils. The little that I have found makes them sound very good. So here are my three questions.

1. From those of y'all that know about these coils, what do you think? (good, bad, crap, awesome?)

2. Is the 3.5 too high with out getting a rear bumper? Maybe it'll give a nice rake with an 885 OME coil? (or are the 2 inch coils much smarter?)

3. Does anybody have pictures of these coils on a 4runner? I struggled to find very many pictures when searching. (the more pictures the merrier)

Mine were just installed. They are definitely too high without some weight in back. I have a CBI rear bumper w/ swingout on order, so I'll live with the condition for now.

I am having to replace the rear sway bar end links and brake cables with extended versions of each. I ordered SkyJacker end links and will order ToyTec brake cables in a few weeks.

As for the ride without weight, they are tolerable. Right now my 4Runner is loaded up with heavy astronomy gear (solar eclipse this weekend), and the backend is fairly high. I'll soon find out how they feel with weight.

most coils are made by Eibach and then redistributed by other companies so the qaulity is likely just as good as any other spring.

the main info you need is the spring rate rating compared to free height measurement as well as number of coils. 3.5" of lift won't be to high but you'll limit your down travel without longer shocks (FYI shocks should never be the travel limiter of the vehicle the spring/ bump stops/ control arms/ sway bar end links should be the limiting factors)

it seems the most injoyed spring rating in the rear is between 200-280lbs pending vehicle weight (armor, bumbers, winches) My OME 896's have 318lb rating and there way stiff lol i dont have enough weight on them yet.

edit: andries at overland warehouse recommends these coils with added weight and his 2.5" extended travel rear shock kit so with that said i have zero doubts you'll enjoy these coils they may be stiff without a rear bumper but you can offset that with carrying a little extra cargo with you (cant hurt to be prepared at all times right lol)

I don't have that coil but do have the OME HD3in and about an inch of old cut down spacer so 4 or so inches in the back. I like the rake but like others said it rides much better with weight in the back. Perfect stance with my motorbike hanging off the back. My worry with this much lift in the back is the rear track bar. All-Pro is a quality company so I would feel comfortable with any of their products. Good luck and let us know.

Too high in the rear without any weight in the rear or cranking up the front. IMO, the spring rate is too light once you get a bumper on too.

If i were to replace the DS 1.5 spacer and fj coils with just this, with the DS and FJ up front still in, think it would give me good look of rake? My rear is very close to sitting lower than my front and considering these to fix that and give it just a little rake!

I have Toytec super flex springs in the rear with a cbi bumper inc swing out it holds the weight but it does feel heavy on bumps
When I go over a bump on road it will compress but take a few seconds to rebound
My question,
Would the 3.5 springs or metal tec 2" springs help this?

Did you install extended rear brake lines as well?

I just installed 3.5 on my 4runner yesterday with ome884/bilstein 5100 on.85 up front. I drove it about 15 miles so far and think it rides great and not to stiff. I didnt do extended brake lines but i would do it or the brake relocating bracket some people have. I havent got my relocating bracket yet so i just unbolted where the line become soft and attaches to the frame until i get it in and just careful not to flex any

yes it is 5100 in the rear but they are from a tacoma extended ones. you just have to push the old bushing out and put in a 3/4 bushing its not to hard if you need more info just let me know

I'm strongly thinking about getting these AP 3.5 rear coils and taking out my toytec SuperFlex 2.0 coils. I need more rear lift and would rather not run a spacer if I can go with the coils. I would need to also get some extended rear brake lines too though right? Anything else before flexing?

Yes. Right now with my 285's I scrub my back bumper where the mudflaps mount up when flexing and sometimes when rolling over speed bumps while loaded up with cargo. I'm wanting to get my back end up to hopefully get rid of that scrubbing.

It would probably be OK, but I would definitely try and invest in new shocks and avoid flexing it out with them, 5100s are designed to operate within 0-2" of rear lift and you could have issues with over compressing the shock on up travel as well as bottoming out the shock on down. It's better to get a shock with a stroke designed for that lift height.
