All Rear Lights Work, Except For Left Blinker...

I recently replaced the left rear blinker bulb after it stopped working. When the problem was still not alleviated, I switched the bulbs to the other sides, and the right blinker still worked. This showed that the bulb and plastic mount for each worked properly. Again, still no blinking on the left side.

I considered that it might be the fuse, but I don't believe that a malfunctioning fuse would cause only one rear blinker to go out. I've got to pass inspection by the end of the month, so you first-rate fixers are what I believe to be my best shot. Thanks for the input!

I started a thread on this not too long ago.
You didn't state what year your 4R is, but mine is a 07.

I had the same issue. It turned out the problem on mine was the little spring fingers that make contact with the PCB were not making contact. It took a little trial and error on which one to bend and how much to bend it.

Anyhow, it fixes it.

Poncharello, I have to believe my problem is along the same line as yours previously posted. Will be checking the wiring tomorrow. Thanks for the link.

Swampmeet, wouldnt the problem you described be shown to be non-existent in this case due to the switching of the bulb/plastic mount combo as I did earlier?

our highlander has this same problem.

its a matter of the connection between the socket and the board it plugs into.

altho the contact points looked great, I cleaned them up, and bent the spring out a bit and its been working fine so far.

you could turn the blinker on, then go back and mess with it. turn it, unscrew it..just fiddle with it and see if it comes on.

Electricity is funny sometimes.

Try this. Pull the plug that goes into the back of the housing. Use a test light to check all the terminals (LMK if you don't know how to use one.)
If you get the blinky blinky..... (While the signal is on) (duh ) then you know its after the plug.

No blinky blinky? I'd check wherever the fuse box / blinker module is.

Ended up replacing the plug mount, and the problem was not fixed. Checked the wires in the stalk location as was given in Poncharello's link.

One of the wires was not completely cut, but barely hanging on. After replacing it...voila it works! Thanks for all the help.

Do you have a 7-Way plug for a trailer hitch? If so use a test light to see if it works.
You can pull the other light assembly out and plug it in to see if it works.
If it does not work you need to start tracing the wires from the back, easier that way, to find the problem.

If you don't have a test light, get one. It will make this job so much easier.

Wiggle the wires, connectors and such as someone already mentioned.
