All the ways to disable VSC

All the ways to disable VSC ?

My 04 full time 4wd V8 has had VSC-TRAC and VSC-OFF lights on since I bought it

I have read all the great write ups on how to install an off switch and want to do that but of course need to figure out how it was disabled in the first place.

Would you fine people be able to help me have a list of possible ways it has been disabled ?

I do not see a fuse for VSC that would be too easy.
Most of the seraches I try here all come back to ways to install a switch but trouble finding ways that it was simply disabled ?

Same write-up is floating around on t4r.org, couldn't find it (in under 3 seconds)


Likely not disabled, those lights are also triggered by error codes. Stop by your local auto parts store or a mechanic and check the codes.

Also check codes @ advanced auto. Might end up being a new gas cap (what it was for me)

You can also YouTube it, I found one video about the switch and then I found a couple others about why the light is on

I have scanned it the only codes I have relate to the evap system can this shut down the VSC system ?
[MENTION=148323]ExCabSwap[/MENTION] , no diff is not locked , that button still functions as normal

I am going to try the zero calibration tonight

Does your 4runner have a suspension lift? That frequently causes the ABS wiring to get stretched beyond the level that it can handle and it knocks out ABS and VSC. If you have a short in your ABS wiring, would that*give you a error code?*
