Is there anyway to setup so all the windows would roll down/up
togther with one button?

Or is it possible to have all windows auto-down?

my dads jag had that feature it was great...youd get out of the car, and hit the lock button twice, and all the windows and even sunroof would close...if there is a way to make the 4runner do it id pay the money!

I had a parts manager look into it for me, and the response was that they could not figure out a way to make it work. Seems that the window motors and switches are different for auto up/down and standard windows. However, I have not really dug into it since then.

Many aftermarket alarms have options you can add that allow you to open / close windows with one button. My old Alpine alarm system in my celica had it.

I asked about that when I bought mine, and they said it's designed to only lower the rear window, and to make it rise with the key or the button inside. There is no way to do the other windows with the remote.

it can be done, but you would have to do it yourself or take it to a 3rd party or aftermarket alarm.

poor man solution:

hook up a relay to the main switch, then have that relay switch 5 other relays. hook the 5 other relays into windows.

Just about anything can be done, but I was answering the question in the sense that everything remained stock.

if done correctly, everything could be still stock. just place the relays in-line with the power lines and install some resistors to make sure there is no backfeed.

on my 94 runner that had a crimestopper alarm/autostart, they had to make a relay board to roll all 4 windows down at the same time. all factory switches still worked but i could also roll down/up the windows using the alarm remote.

just depends on how techical you are or how much $$$ you are willing to spend.

i stopped getting alarms for my vehicles since where i live, you get no insurance discounts for them.

but lately i have been looking at some remote starters that my toyota dealer has been installing for the last 4 years. they only want about $300 installed. so i may break down this fall and install one on the 4runner or the wife's 02 tacoma. as i get older, i have less tolerance for going outside and starting the truck up when it gets below zero up here.

The JDM 4th Gen have All Auto windows standard.

Also, the dealer taught me a trick with the key fob:

If you press and hold the "unlock button, ALL the windows, including the moon roof, OPEN. If you press and hold the lock button on the key fob, ALL the windows, including the moonroof close.

I don't know if it's a programmable function or part of the ECU.

not sure what the accronym is, but it means the japenese production of the 4runner i believe - its called a hilux surf there...

i was thinking it wouldnt be just the driver's "AUTO" window switches would it?
