This is awesome! I was planning to do a trip with my Son and some of his friends this summer in West VA or PA and this looks perfect.

I did a trip down the BRP last year to TN, this off road one will be a blast. And i still have my Gaia app from last year.

I know this is old but I am going to run this in May or June 2023. I have downloaded the GPX file and saved all the maps that cover the area. I also have Gaia GPS Premium and OnX Elite. I will be coming from Pa, so the north. Any tips on a particular start? Or best trails. Even tips on following a route would help.

Man, I would totally love to join you, but I've been doing some restoration work on my 2nd Gen.

If you're coming from PA, I would start in Cumberland. That's where I started when I drove over from Delmarva. This trip is such a good route...

I would recommend going when it's dryest so you can do the river crossings. Closer to spring, they're usually too high.

Bring some paper maps, and preplan some alternative camp sites before you go. There is no cell coverage at all as you get further south, so it isn't easy to make changes on the fly.

If you have the time, I would take a trip over to the New River Gorge National Park if you haven't been there before. It's a little over an hour from Lake Moomaw at the southern end of the route.
