Allegheny NF/Finger Lakes NF

I'm driving KY > Toronto at the end of the month with stops in OH, PA, and NY. OH is already sorted out. I was hoping I might find someone on here with some experience in Allegheny National Forest PA and Finger Lakes National Forest in NY. I plan on calling in to the ranger stations to inquire about more information regarding access roads, and I've got ahold of the vehicle accessible maps through the forestry websites. I'm looking for areas to camp out of the truck for 2-3 days in each place without ending up at a campsite with too many other people around. Near water is preferable.
