Almost 36000 miles...time for warranty abuse!

Just kidding...but seriously I do have a few things that might or might not warrant a replacement under warranty. Some honest feedback from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

1. Something in the passenger vanity mirror (or the whole thing) is loose, thus making a very annoying rattling noise. Would this be justified in getting it replaced?

2. A corner of my leather steering wheel is starting to loosen up. Not really bothersome but a friend told me to tell it to the dealer anyways to get it repaired. I'm thinking it's just normal wear and tear, but he thinks otherwise. In any case do I have a chance to get a whole new leather steering wheel?

I don't plan on doing the TSB on the sulfer smell (Magnaflow exhaust) or the rear seat squeak (some electrical tape did the job), but I am having them take a look at the "clunk" that occasionally occurs when I make a sharp turn. Are there any other TSBs for a 2005 4Runner that I might have missed? Any links and/or printouts would be greatly appreciated!

OK here's a maintenance question...pay extra for the Iridium spark plugs for the V6 when the time comes to do the 30000 mile service? I managed to get a quote of $200 for the service, which is $90 off Toyota of Garden Grove's special. This was after I told them I don't need an oil change, tire rotation and engine air filter replacement; I'll let them change out my cabin air filter (I'll make sure and check they in fact did it afterward). Since I'm saving some $$, should I have them use Iridium plugs instead of what they would normally use?

Well, I had them replace some trim on mine, went over the vehicle as best I could, I have almost 36K on 'er. No worries about warranty "abuse", thats what warranties are for.

If you've got the "seat movement" issue on your driver's side seat, I'd get that fixed. There is a TSB for it, do a search. I had that done right before my warranty expired and it hasn't resurfaced.

You can do the spark plugs your self, much cheaper. It's a warranty, it's supposed to be used like that!

I'm cutting it close with the 36000 cutoff. With errands I have to do I might get them the car with 35999 on the range. One mile to spare...hahaha.

Found the TSB for front driver's seat noise. This board rocks.

I might just do that. That should lower the quote I got even more.

So basically I'm potentially paying them to inspect some fluids and change a cabin air filter. I'll still probably overpay, but at least I can say I had the 30K service done at a dealership.

Got the rear seat squeak fixed, they're ordering the parts for the front seat TSB, but they couldn't replicate the problem with my visor and the front suspension clunk, so no dice on those two repairs.

Damn...there is a TSB? I had it done about 20k ago (at about 24K), and it is back! I may have to go take it in again for the warranty work since I have the extended platinum warranty.

Oh yeah...also I only heard the clunk while turning when there was a change in pitch in the vehicle (going down a curb or what-not). Is that the same for you?

There is already a thread on this somewhere. The clunk you hear is the wheel rubbing against a "stop plate" mounted on the frame. If you clean it and put some grease on it you will not hear as much.
