Hi,
I say almost because I just made a deal on a new 2011 T4R Limited, but the vehicle I want (made the deal on), is still on a ship somewhere coming from Japan and won't be here until next week. So since it's not here yet, I'm not officially a 4Runner owner yet, but just wanted to join the forum and check in.
I've been through the gamut of SUV's and pickups since the early-90's, but this will be my first 4Runner, and I'm very excited. I've looked at everything lately, but I kept coming back to the T4R for it's quality and feel. I know previous generation owners don't always like the latest body styling as much, but I do! It has a more rugged look to me then the previous gens, and just feels tougher. The newest Fords, GM's, Nissans and even the Jeeps seem to be trending more towards the "tacky - my wife loves this!" styling - especially the interiors. It's like; "Hey, lets go "off road" (off the avenue), and get in the Starbucks drive through lane! And don't scratch my paint, and watch out, you almost spilled your double vanilla shot latte on my faux cherry wood dash trim!" Okay, maybe that says a little too much about me, but my wife actually does like it and says the 4Runner fits my personality, and I agree! For the record, I think she looks good in her "elegant" car too!
So I'm planning on having this 4Runner for many years and I hope it lives up to my expectations. I'm looking forward to reading some postings! Thanks!
Chris
