alternate spring recommendation?

Just put a set of 2016 FJ springs on my 2003 4Runner with new 5100's. Ride is a little soft for my liking, too much brake dive. Ive had OMEs in my 1999 TJ and they were stiffer but rode terrible. Probably a function of the short wheelbase vs too stiff a spring rate. Can anyone recommend a stiffer spring that rides well? If it exists.

What setting do you have the fronts? I have Moogs with 5100's and it rides awesome.

I had my 885s on the lowest setting, plus I had sliders, full skid plates, and dual battery weight. The ride was about perfect. Without all that extra weight I think you might be happy with the 885s. Depends what you wanna do to your rig. I eventually moved to icon coilovers and recently upgraded to 700 lb springs after I put the front bumper on. Perfect ride.

I have the fronts set @ the 1.75 setting and a 1" coil spacer in the rear. Heightwise Im happy. Just wish it were 20% stiffer. I also upgraded my tires to 255 75 17 Duratracs mabey this is also part of the issue.
Setting it up for towing my boat,some beach driving and an occasional camping trip. Not interested in any hardcore offroading. Need it to be somewhat efficient also. Currently averaging 20-21 hwy and 14-15 city. Thats after 2 seafoam txs.

In all reality you're using a stock spring that's preloaded and I'd imagine that the spring rate isn't that high since it's for a stock v6. I'd look into the 885s on the 0 setting. It's a stiffer spring and with the v8 will probably keep you level with the 1" spacer in the rear. I initially had about a 3" lift on the v6 but after everything settled and I added weight I was probably down around 2-2.5" Not quite sure since I never measured before I put the Icons on.

Wow I overlooked that fact! In retrospect I would have gone straight for the stiffer OME or ICON springs. I wouldn't do just the fronts all 4 springs should be matched.

Another option are the Wheeler's T1(front coilover)/T12 (rear) springs, which are made by Eibach. I have them paired with 5100's (0 setting on the front) on my '05 SE and they ride great. Stiffer than the stock XREAS but still smooth.

another vote for 885's on the lowest setting. They rode leaps and bounds better over the preloaded FJ coils on the road.

Since you already have the 5100s

Id suggest the wheeler Eibach T1s up front and T13s in back to match the 2/1 lift. Theres also dobinson as well but you should consult mike of dobinson.
