Alternator wires from plug????

Ok, gasping for air....how many wires does the alternator plug have on a 2006 sport 4.0 ? I don't see a "grey wire" from the plug, but the plu,harness has never been messed with, and I keep reading about a grey wire that turns off the batt dash light on start up.....my earlier post on the problem has not turned up any solutions.....Thanks for any help....rsbhunter
