Am I crazy?

Ok guys, here is the deal. I have an '09 Scion xB with 17,000 miles. I have had it for a couple years now and want something different. I've been wanting a 4th gen 4Runner, but I can only go up to $15,000. I found a gorgeous '04 4Runner Limited with 148,000ish miles gor just under $15,000. Am I an idiot for wanting to buy it? I've read that high mileage with 4Runners isn't a big deal. I want something that has 4WD and I can take anywhere I need it to go. It may be worth noting that I tend to keep vehicles only for a couple years before I get something else.

$15k will buy you a nice 4runner but this one seems a little too costly. Mine is an 03 with 100k mi when I bought it last year for $12,400 from a dealer. Find a better deal if you can.

you'll portray a diff image with the 4r.

the scion's cute and economical in that vw cabrio kinda way. for a dude, not sure this is a good thing.

get the 4r. v8. limited.

I wouldn't buy anything with over 100k miles, especially for $15k! Sure the truck will still work, but things will start going bad and the repair bills will add up.

Are you going to actually off-road or tow anything? If it's just street duty, maybe a highlander is a better option.

Light off-road. Possibly some towing. I don't really like Highlanders. I want something trucky and tough. The price itself is actually good for my area. If it only had 100,000 miles it would probably be listed at around $20,000.

If it's been maintained the mileage is fine, I bought my '05 with 115k with no worries and I tend to be rather hard on my trucks. I stepped up the T4R from a Land Cruiser with 258k miles on it and going strong.
