Am I missing something here? CL ad..

If that joker gets more than 10K for it and I ever see the jacka$$ that bought it on here I will drive from Texas to the Bay and personally slap that dumb S.O.B.

same here man people from sj are something else. dub c oakland>san jose lol sry just trolling here teehee

I got all the time in the world... If I don't get around 18k for it, I'll keep it. I actually dont mind keeping it... but in the case that someone wants it really bad, I'll sell it. All my cars are low mileage. My 99 miata only has 16k original miles on it. I have an 1987 Toyota Corolla GTS with only 80k original miles on it and a 94 Daihatsu Hijet Minitruck with less than 7k miles on it.

Yea, most people laughed when they saw my 96 for sale for $13,000. And laughed when I turned down a $10k offer. But I eventually sold it after a year for $12,500 to a local in Saratoga. This one probably won't sell... but who knows, if someone really like it they may buy it. Either way doesn't bother me. I don't need the money, but if I do sell it for $18,000 then that will be a great week for me. Untill then it will just keep reposting on craigslist.

I can also use the sale of my 96 4runner also as proof to the value of manual 4runners locally. If I am in an accident and the truck is totalled out then I can show proof of other similar cars in the area that sold and get a higher amount. (I.E. my 96) Being that it's exactly the same color and simmilar options with 87k original miles at the time of sale it's a great example to show the insurance. I've delt with these things quite a few times to know how to cover my bases.

In short, I don't really have intentions of selling it any time soon. I'm kinda fishing, if someone shows intrest and is ok with my asking price then I'll play ball. Otherwise I'm keeping it. $18k is kind of a price that I know VERY few people would take a bite at which will ensure I will keep the 4runner for a while instead of only keeping her for a little under 2 years.

Not really... friends offer to buy it off me sometimes. I used to have two corollas and a local kid saw it at a meet and begged me for it for a few months. Ended up selling it to him... his parents bought it for him. On the corolla forums I've had offers around $15,000 for it as it with all it's parts. It's got alot into it.:guitar3: If I ever do decide to sell it.... it will find it's way on craigslist too.

She gets a garage space next to the 4runner.

This old girl which used to be my daily sold for $5,500. It has 230k original miles on it with a rebuilt engine and tranny... great running condition despite the high mileage. Kid was in love with it and it was affectionatly known as "The Black Bomber" to local forum members in the bay area. I still miss the car but $5,500 was well worth it and I had outgrown dailying a stripped out car. I decided to start dailying my M3 and miata instead.

Thats a good deal seeing as the automatic was an option as was the sport package, its cheaper than the manual, if i didnt have my truck i would buy that one.

I agree, an automatic should be worth more - who wants a stick shift(unless you are a member of the serious off roadin club) and that is probably a very small number.

When my father bought his '99 SR5 he had to have a 5 speed - the dealership thought he was nuts and tried to talk him out of it and it took them 4 weeks to locate one. He kept it for 3 years(lease) and turned it back in with only 9,000 miles and it was immaculate - I was going to buy it but they still wanted over $20K for it, I would have bought but I couldn't be bothered with a 5 speed.

I waited almost 4 weeks for my '99 5-speed and it is still my daily driver. A stick is just more fun and gives me more control over the car. And over 130K miles, I have saved a lot of $$$ in gas compared to a 'slush box'. I still have the original radiator and I can sleep at night--no milkshakes here.

I love cars with 3 pedals , makes any car more fun to drive.
Even my daily beater 98 1.6 civic :thumb3:

But on something like a 4runner I had to have a auto.

Its nice to sit back , shift into D and cruise
