Am i stupid for even considering this?

So i have an 07 4runner sport. V6. Not many options but it's a great truck. i was planning on a mild lift, HIDs, a good head unit with Nav and blu tooth etc...

My truck has 30,000 miles on it and i plan on keeping it a long time.

I go to the dealer this morning to get a replacement blinker bulb and see a 2006 4runner limited. it has Nav, leather, V8.....everything. It was beautiful. and it was the same color as my truck. They were asking like 27k for it (which i know i get down to probably 25). My truck is a year newer and KBB trade in is worth like 21.

Normally i wouldn't hesitate and i'd probably pay the few grand to upgrade.....but........when i looked one last time at the limited i noticed it had 60,000 miles on it.

As much as i really loved it, i have issue's with trading my truck for another one with double the miles on it.

But.....i can't get this thing out of my mind.

Someone give me some insight because this truck was soooo freakin nice.

Hmmmmmm well that is up to you and what you would be using it for. If it was me I would just keep the 2007 Sport and not worry about the Limited. I think $27k is a little high for a 2006 Limited.
 
If the V6 can handle what you tow id keep what you have. Just lift it, throw some tires on it and you will love it.
 
double the miles on it & a too high a price of 27 for an 06, just for v8, nav, & leather? hmm, in your place , if i had the money, id buy a nav. , leather katskinz, & do a couple performance/handling mods if ya want. those would cost you around 3k or so, & you ll still have the lower mileage. even if they came down to 25, it will still cost less to just add what you want to your 07.
 
$27,000 US funds? if thats US then its definately way too much.

here in canada a 06 limited with 100,000kms would be going for like 28K CDN. and we pay quite a bit more than you americans for our vehicles.

but I do love the V8 ;) I've had a 22RE, 3VZ, and now the v8, and I'll never go back ;) plus im getting 19mpg

Did you buy your 2007 Sport brand new? If you did...keep it.

I have a 2007 SR5 V6...buying the SR5 was a bad idea, gotta get Sport at least. Don't know why Toyota puts all this chrome.

Anywho...I was thinking of getting a V8 Limited, but it would be a new one.

I wouldn't trade a vehicle I bought new for something used. You don't know what happened in that car.

I think you should do it for the V8 alone. You won't get the VVTi with the 2004 but the smoothness and the sound alone is amazing. Plus the Limited trim is beautiful. Do it!
 
I wouldn't. For an engine upgrade to go with an older one and double the mileage, it's not worth it. Furthermore, unknown history for those 60k miles. I always ask myself, why would someone turn in such a new vehicle. Though in today's economic times, different scenerios can apply: loss of job, gas was sky high maybe when they turned in the car, etc. But still...

Some things you will lose, depending on how important they are to you. X-REAS, the Limited may or may not have it. The lovely hood scoop, some members love it. A member here has a scoop on his Limited.

Other things would be, do you want leather? Some prefer cloth instead and can't stand leather. It will most likely have a JBL sound system, which makes upgrading a little more involved.
 
I bought a 2006 XS-P, leather the whole bit with 12k on it and I paid 24K if that helps or not I don't know. It has the V-8 and I love it but I've never drove the V-6.

19 MPG in a V-8. Hey isn't the gas pedal on the right in Canada Grandma. Best I can get is 16.
 
for what it's worth, i paid $20K for my 2005 limited V8 with nav and 35K miles here in socal. and that was from a used car dealership that only does lexus and toyota SUVs. there were/are some key changes from 2005 to 2006. but just thought i'd throw that out there so you had another reference point.
