Am I the only who doesn't like black rims?

Depends upon the color of the vehicle, sometimes black on black looks really good. However, personally, I am partial towards brilliant chrome. Chrome goes with nearly everything.

Same thing here, I dislike the look of chrome as well. But some people just really know how to mod their cars that chrome can actually look really good to me.

I'm not a fan of chrome on offroad vehicles. It just doesn't fit the application and seems too flashy. It looks good on some old fashion classics or imports but not on trucks. Just the same as chrome wouldn't look right on race cars. I think Black or bronze/ matte colors give more of an appearance of ruggedness and durability. I think offroad trucks or SUV's look better with a more military styling rather than flashy carshow styles.

I'm not a fan of black wheels...or chrome ones except on old cars.
A HUGE part of a vehicle's look and style is the wheels. The shape of the inner design, curves and angles, number of spokes, depth, rivets, etc. When a wheel is black, a lot of these details are lost unless you are up close and the vehicle is stationary. Plus, the tire can blend into the wheel which is an added negative. I personally like satin finished aluminum like Outlaw IIs or Convo pros with a little bit of polishing and shiny rivets.
I do have to say that on some vehicles where the wheel isn't trying to be "showy", I does help the in the looks department when the wheels are black.
That being said, to each is own and do whatever makes you happy. Its your truck.

I remember back in the 80's when the first Buick Grand National's came out and thought that was the baddest looking car to hit the streets. More so just because of the paint scheme with the color matched bumpers, trim, spoilers, and wheels.
Haven't quite gotten used to seeing painted wheels though. Brushed aluminum has always been my favorite but some of the modified vehicles really look sharp with color matched wheels.

i used to think the same, the more chrome the better. And on classic cars, i still feel that way . But the black grew on me , and now i have an almost
fully murked out(blacked out) 4runner. Black wheels, black plastidipped front
and rear grill, emblems and tail lights. And i love it..:hug:

nope, you are not alone. I do not like them either. They dont standout, they kinda look like standard black steel wheels, which kinda defeats the purpose of putting on nice rims. i guess its all personal preference, but i always like brush aluminum (or gun metal) rims.
But again, everyone is different, i guess some people like it.

It's rare that I really like "ALL BLACK" wheels. However, I REALLY LIKE black w/machined surface wheels, as evident by the ones on my Runner. In fact, I LOVE black with machined surface. They just look tough as hell to me.

We used to offer Gloss White steel wheels. They were pretty popular with the FJ Cruiser guys going for that retro look.
I like it.
