Little off subject but riceandpho I have to say you take good care of that paint. I love black paint on cars and trucks "if" it is well taken care of. Your ride looks like a mirror and that is awesome. Nice work.
Am I the only who doesn't like black rims?

that shine was last year fathers day, it was first time for full clay and wax since i owned the truck back in xmas of 07. i need another clay and wax job, the clay smooth the body alot.
I have preferred black wheels on all of my vehicles since my very first car a 94 civic hatch on black steelies and that was 14 years ago when chrome actually complimented a vehicle. Wheels depend on the vehicle new or old if you have no asthetic taste then you prob bought your wheels from Pep Boys or sears!
Ghetto IMHO is chrome wheels that are so big it makes the vehicle look lifted. Stealth or Murdered out reminds me of rap videos or 4 door wranglers/Range Rovers with big shiny black wheels. Sure you can murder out a 4runner but they were not designed for that asthetic look. Have yall ever seen a 4runner commercial where they are creepin through the city blasting their music like a Kia Soul commercial? NO!! Because 4runner's were designed by the manufacturer for being a rugged offroad friendly SUV and partial grocery getter/commuter/soccer mom type vehicle.
That being said the best enhancements for a 4runner IMHO would be something geard to compliment the ruggedness for its design. BLACK wheels scream rugged if tastefully chosen. Military styling, zombie apocalypse, end of days. You want it to look capable. What is CAPABLE of big chromies or chrome for that matter! Black is rugged, tough, prepared, support your troops love your country kind of COOL!!
If you want Ghetto/Stealth/Murdered Out, then buy a Yukon and slap some big gloss black or chrome plated heavy wheels on it and cruise the city scapes bc that is all its capable of.

Chrome won't get ya home lol i think main reason I like them anyway is always look clean brake dust crap doesn't show as bad just my opinion

I actually like GOLD.
I love gold hardware (or brass, or bronze) on anything and everything around me, always have.
I've threatened to paint my wheels and luggage rack gold more than once and got the 'dude, that would be so GHETTO! every single time.
So, compared to gold apparently, I think everything and everyone else gets a nod and a pass.
I might still do it, and probably wind up in the 'Ugliest 4Runner' thread :Cry::Cry::Cry::banana:

It really depends on the color of the car. I think black rims look the best with silver like Nyc-Runner 's 4Runner. I have white so i'm not the biggest fan of black rims, but again, its preference.

Now this does look good especially since it is complimented with the lift. I didn't say I hate them on all vehicles. This is done tastefully. Just not the direction I would have gone. I like brushed aluminum or nickel look. I also like the looks of my grey helo's
