Amayama pros or cons

after reading about Amayama in another thread, I thought I would ask to see how many people are using them and how it has gone

For those not knowing about Amayama..... amazingly cheap OEM Toyota parts,

there are other threads out there. Go to this forums search , type in Amayama but select posts, not threads, for me it was faster that way

Awesome for me for the ITRE and OTRE. That's all I've ordered from them. Prompt and cheaper than anyone in the US even with the shipping from UAE.

yep I just priced out inner tie rod ends
local dealer 201 each
camel back 148 each
Amayama......178 for the pair including shipping for original Toyota parts

Amayama is now the only way I get parts for all my JDM-only motors, etc. Fast enough, good prices, and they can get pretty much anything.

I have been doing Camelback for 4Runner stuff though - anything heavy will be killed by shipping from overseas.

true, I would only use them for small parts. cant imagine shipping a pair of Toyota tundra brake rotors and being cost effective.

Some parts are much cheaper through them and small enough to ship (Tie rod ends), some parts aren't much cheaper through them and when you add in shipping it kills it. It's best to check the exact part and price shop around. If it isn't something you need ASAP then Amayama is a great option.

A con for me would be that they aren't Camelback. Those people are doing business right.

So the real question that should be asked is why are their OEM parts so cheap? Probably no tariffs for one.

I need some inner tie rods as well come to think of it.....

You can generally choose Japan or UAE as the source for the parts (sometimes with different prices or availability). Just go with Japan if you are worried about it.

Do any of you guys use Conicelli Toyota in PA? They have had good prices in my experience and their customer service is good and responsive. Returns have also been drama-free.

Sorry OP - I realize your question was specifically regarding Amayama.

They were my go-to dealer for OEM this summer as I did my frame swap. They will pricematch Camelback and for me it gets here SO much faster. Great choice if you are in the East.

I spoke to Amanda several times between my orders and she talks politely and help until my question is answered. They broke an oil seal during the shipment and they replaced it for free. Even did a refund for code TWpartz when their system didn't accept the code online.

I'll do local business as we all have to live supporting each other.

They're supporting us locals too! We have to pay sales tax, but no shipping of course.

I primarily use Camelback for all my OEM needs, except ITRs. I think Amayama had them beat by a significant amount, (the better part of $100). The only time I will use a stealership, is if it is some small part that I really need. Otherwise their prices are just crazy town. :der:

+1 for Amanda. She overnighted a part for me while I was out of town on vacation for my land cruiser. Would have been in a big bind without her help.

I'd love to use a dealer that has a reputation like Camelback. But... they're not allowed to ship outside of the US and I haven't found a reliable way to get things shipped to Alaska..

For Alaska, I use Toyota of Dallas. Camelback wouldn't work with me regarding shipping. FedEx only and it was too much. Dallas will use Priority Mail. Much cheaper and faster then dealing with Anchorage. I've been using then for years. There may be others better, but I haven't found them.
