Amazon.com Don't Trust

Don't trust the "Find parts that fit your vehicle" check that Amazon offers. I have had my first experience with it incorrectly suggesting a part that did not fit.

:redbrick:

The part was a Vacuum switching valve for a 2000 4cyl automatic 4runner.

Yeah, I usually go elsewhere and find the part number and then go to Amazon and order it.

Their software has the opposite problem too. Things fit and it says they don't.

Amazon as a site for buying almost anything is trustworthy, I have been buying from them for years, never a problem, but ntopliffe is right, their info on vehicle is NOT always accurate. Safe to buy from them just double check the part is actually correct.

I usually don't trust any site's "this will fit your vehicle" thing.

I may get a part number from them, but I will always do my own research and find out if it actually fits.

I buy a ton of stuff from Amazon and have never had a problem, but I buy most of my vehicle repair/maintenance stuff from Rock Auto... their vehicle look-up hasn't failed me yet and their prices are great.
