Amazon TRD PRO Grill upgrade without GAP??

while it says "no" gap, I'm always leary of something with no reviews..plenty of people including myself have installed the one from CThome, the gap on that one is practically unnoticeable unless you get right up on top of it and even then its only about a 1/4 inch.

Good luck with the purchase and the install. Lots of people have had bad luck with Amazon and eBay sellers. Remember, even the TRD Pro OEM grill that comes on the 'stock' TRD Pros has a gap. There are a few pictures floating in the CarTrim/Chinese Special thread that has a side by side comparison.

Whats funny to me is they used the EXACT same 4Runner image that CarTrim uses, but they simply removed the 4Runner letters from the grill. Seems...shady. You'd think if they were pushing no gap, that they'd take the time to have it installed on an actual 4Runner.

I don't have that specific grill, but Amazon grill was perfect with just a wee smidge of gap on either side.

Probably from the same factory as all the others, but interested to see the results.

Not true - CarTrim 100% produces their own grills. They outsource the lights because they've admitted they cannot produce them with the quality they want.

Yes my dude...I bought a cartrim grill so you already got your kickback off my purchase lol. You are looking a little shilly here.

I work with CT a lot and want to educate those who are on the fence on what is true vs not true. CT makes their own grills - plain and simple.

Also only warned OP that eBay and Amazon sellers who have Pro grills have a bad reputation around here based on numerous threads.

Nothing shilly about any of that.

Weren’t u shilling n pushing hard to sell that crappy CT head unit a while back....,yeah that was you.

Dropping your links for your cartrimhome parts on a thread asking specifically about the amazon variant was pretty shillastic. Not hating on your hustle, just be honest about it.

Seriously? Why don’t you go find the thread and get your facts straight. I made the original post when the T8 first came out ASKING if anyone had purchased and their thoughts; I was working with CT to try and get the forum a discount only to learn another guy from Facebook had been working with them well before me. It ended there. I didn’t make a single dime and I didn’t try to either - I made that VERY clear in the thread, which again you obviously didn’t read too well. I’m not one to push anything that I don’t personally own or can’t vet myself. There was another member who was pushing those units, hard, with a forum discount, not me.

I go out of my way to help the forum members here get the Pro grills from CT, especially when issues arise, and you bet I’m going to earn something as a result, but it stops with the Pro grills.

Get your facts right, cool guy. I’m done here.

You know what, you’re right. I’ll remove the links. My intent was to show they jacked the same pics that CarTrim uses for the 4R grill.

So back to the Amazon offering...

They have some photos that show alignment dimples for the letters and some photos show a smooth finish with no letters. No dropdown menu to choose one or the other so the inconsistencies make me wonder as to what someone actually gets.

This photo looks like the CarTrimHome photo with the letters photoshopped out

Item returned

So item arrived....terrible packaging. I'm surprised it was not shattered on the inside. This unit came with the dimples, no Toyota letters and instead of having the adhesive tape already attached to the unit they tossed a roll of used tape in with the unit. Fitment was terrible and it felt like it would scratch easily. I may just pick up on from the dealer. Thanks for all the input.

How is the quality of the grill and cover? does it match the factory lower grill in color or does it have to be painted?

Thanks for following back up. That's unfortunate.

Fyi most companies don’t post the letters in order to avoid a cease and desist from Toyota. If you’re only advertising a black piece of plastic they can’t go after them. So with that in mind, I always assume most, but probably not all, of the pro grilles advertised without letters will come with them.
