amp install (hidden)

hey,
i am looking to install 2 fairly large amps in my 97 runner. in my last car there was plenty of room under the rear seats. i was thinking of doing some cutting to make some space under the rear drivers side seat to mount the amps. i was wondering if anyone has done this before?
i was thinking of going with the space behind the rear trim pannels, but that would make the amps inaccesable for adjustment. anyone else have any ideas?

I know this is in a different 4runner generation, but maybe it'll give you some reference:

I also realize that the amp is hidden, and not able to be adjusted, but I figured you might want to check out what I did anyway.

Good luck,

yea, i did see your post and it is a nice install, but i would like to be able to get at my amps. i guess my sub amp could work somewhere back there (remote gain) but my comp amp will need to be accessable.

...just curious why you "need" to have your amps accessable after installation?
I assume you are not installing to compete, otherwise you probably would want them to NOT be hidden...
...so I'm still not sure why you need to get to them often... HU should provide all the control you would need, yes?

no competition, no controll through the hu.
i don't know why i really want to be able to get at them, after the gains are set properly i shouldn't have to mess with them. i guess i really liked my setup in my last car (grand cherokee) the amps were under the rear seat, with fans at the sides one pushing one pulling. it waw just convenient to be able to pop open the seat to aadjust the gains or futz with the wiring.
